Child Welfare Programs
Family First
Are you looking to enhance your parenting skills?
Our trained Parent Educators at Family First provide individual and group sessions using the Nurturing Families curriculum.
Child Protective Services Board
The Travis County Children's Protective Services Board is comprised of up to 15 members appointed by the Travis County Commissioners for three year terms. Members volunteer their time and talents to advocate for the protection and well-being of those Travis County children who are in the care of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS) Child Protective Services Division.
Parenting in Recovery/Family Drug Treatment Court
All referrals to PIR/FDTC must be submitted by CPS or another legal party. However, once a parent has signed a client agreement and agreed to engage in the PIR/ FDTC program, they are subject to incentives and sanctions based on their behavior. The parent is also not allowed to voluntarily withdraw from the program without the permission of the Court.
Healthy Families Travis County
Services are offered to first-time parents, who reside in some Travis County zip code areas. Most referrals come from local prenatal clinics and some are obtained from area high schools. Intake Workers visit clinics and schools regularly to gather referrals. Families receive information and referral services and may qualify for home visiting services.

Summer Youth Employment
Contact the Work-Based Learning/Summer Youth Employment Program’s office beginning the first week of January to be scheduled for the required 15 hours of Job Readiness Training. All training must be completed by March 31st.

Juvenile Justice
Neighborhood Conference Committee
The Neighborhood Conference Committee program handles Class A and Class B misdemeanor cases not involving weapons/serious assault, committed by juveniles between the ages of 10-16 years of age and who have no prior adjudicated offenses.

If you identify a youth who could benefit from the individualized community planning of CPC contact Sonia to discuss general eligibility, to receive the CPC referral packet and to facilitate the scheduling of a session for your youth.

The Children’s Partnership
All referrals come through the local Community Partners for Children (TCP), Travis County CRCG, Community Resource Coordination Group. TCP serves as the single point of community access to services and supports for children, youth, and families.

Triad
A referral is made to Community Partners for Children (CPC). The family and referring entity attend the CPC meeting and in partnership with the family a plan is developed that will provide support to the youth and family. The plan may involve the Triad program, as well as, other community supports and services. The Triad program is utilized as a “last resort” option when a youth is not able to remain stable and safe in the community despite the use of a variety of supports and interventions. Contact the CPC Coordinator/Intake Specialist at (512) 854-4868 to facilitate the CPC referral process.
