The Neighborhood Conference Committee (NCC) is a voluntary, community-based program helping youth ages 10–17 build skills, strengthen relationships, and achieve success at home, in school, and in the community.
Through Restorative Practices, individualized support, mentoring, education, and family engagement, NCC connects youth and families with resources that promote accountability, educational success, personal growth, and positive futures.

Eligibility
NCC works with Travis County Residents ages 10 up to their 17th birthday. Youth with minor justice involvement are welcome to participate.
Timeline
The services offered are available for youth ages 10-17, can be continued as needed.
Cost
It is free to participate in the Neighborhood Conference Committee program.
Refer a Youth to the NCC Program
If you’re referring a young person to the Neighborhood Conference Committee program, submit the referral form and provide as much information as possible about the youth and their family.
How to Participate in the NCC Program
Once a referral is submitted, NCC staff work directly with the youth and their family. Follow the steps below to learn what to expect as you participate in the program.
Receive your referral
Referrals from youth service providers, legal entities, schools, faith-based organizations, community members, parents, and youth themselves are welcome. If NCC is unable to provide the appropriate services, staff will make every effort to connect youth and families with other available community resources.
Complete your intake session
Upon referral, an NCC team member will contact the family by phone or email to schedule an intake session. During the intake process, we will discuss the youth’s needs, strengths, and goals and identify appropriate resources and support.
Language access and ADA accommodations are respected and addressed to help ensure every family can fully participate in the process.
Attend your Conference
Your NCC team member will help schedule a Conference, the youth, the family, community volunteers, and an NCC representative come together to identify strengths, discuss goals, and develop a voluntary plan of support.
Together, participants create a collaborative agreement focused on positive growth, personal responsibility, educational success, and connection to community resources.
Follow your Plan
Following the Conference, youth participate in a voluntary plan developed collaboratively with their family, NCC staff, and community members. Grounded in restorative practices, the plan focuses on reflection, accountability, repairing relationships, building positive skills, and strengthening connections to family, school, and community.
Activities are individualized to each youth’s strengths, needs, and goals and may include educational sessions, skill-building activities, community involvement, personal reflection, journaling, culturally relevant activities and events, and other supportive opportunities.
