CARES Act

The CDBG program is funded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to benefit Travis County low- to moderate-income residents who live in San Leanna, Webberville, Creedmoor, Lago Vista, or West Lake Hills, or in unincorporated Travis County. The program supports community development activities aimed at revitalizing neighborhoods, improving affordable housing options, and providing improved community facilities and services. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) makes available supplemental CDBG funding for grants to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus (CDBG-CV grants). HUD has announced the allocations of the first $2 billion in CARES Act funding for CDBG grantees. Of that amount, Travis County’s allocation of CDBG-CV funds is $700,683.
