Travis County Community Centers continue to provide services, but we are not accepting in-person applications at this time. From now on, appointments will be required to pick up food from our pantry. Thank you for your understanding and helping us keep 6 feet between people as a precaution against infection. If you are in need of help, please call or email the community center directly.

Food Pantry: The food pantry can be accessed once every 30 days by residents of Travis County. An application and proof of address are needed to get a food pantry. Food for the household for approximately three days is provided including frozen foods (when available). To help the environment, please bring your own grocery bags with you when you come for a food pantry.

Our clothing closet is usually open from 9am to noon Monday through Friday (depending on volunteer availability). We have gently used clothing donated by community members. Clothing is available for sale and prices are extremely low – generally between 25 cents and $5, and proceeds are used to help clients in need. If you are interested in applying for free clothing from the Clothing Closet please let someone at the front desk know. Free clothing is available once every 30 days.

We accept donations of gently used clothing. If you have clothing that you would like to donate, please bring your donation by the community center. All our clothing is given out at low or no cost to our clients.

Our Clothing closet is run by committed volunteers who make sure all donations are clean and ready to distribute. Many thanks to our great volunteers!

We have a social worker available to talk with people in need. Our Social Worker provides clinical case management services to any residents of Travis County who want to develop a plan and create change in their lives. All Travis County residents are eligible to receive social work services; however eligibility criteria do apply for financial assistance and other programs.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays our partner agency Meals on Wheels and More provides a place for older adults to gather for games (bingo, dominoes, cards, bridge, puzzles), conversation and a shared nutritious lunchtime meal.

Congregate Meal sites are FREE for everyone and open to ANYONE age 60 or over! There is no charge for the meal, but a donation can be made to Meals on Wheels and More if the participants want to do so. Come share good conversation, fun games and a meal with us. We’ll be looking forward to your company, WE LOVE SEEING NEW FACES! Contact Rebecca, Senior Lunch Program Manager at 512-854-1540 to sign up.

The community center has a meeting area that can be reserved for community benefiting events and groups. Space at Pflugerville Community Center is available based on the following criteria:

  • No private parties
  • No religious or political functions
  • No charge for attending the event held at the Center
  • The group cannot be a for-profit group but must have a community focus or benefit

Examples of groups that use our meeting area include Alcoholics Anonymous, Women’s Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and Indian-American Cultural Groups. Please contact the center manager at the main number (512-854-1530) if you have any reservation requests or questions.

Hygiene items are always needed for our clients, and are distributed along with food to those seeking assistance. Following are some examples of frequently requested items:

  • Shampoo
  • Lotion

Donations can be accepted Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Please call 512-854-1530 to coordinate a drop-off time. Donation receipts are also available upon request.

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.5 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $10.39.
