Below is a list of the documents required to apply for each type of assistance provided at the Travis County Community Centers. Before you begin the online Application process please have the documents needed available.
You can apply for financial assistance online, or you may also call the Center of your choice to request a mailed paper Application for Assistance. Paper applications are also available to pick up at each Center.

Required for All Applicants
- Completed Travis County Application for Assistance
- Government Issued photo identification that shows name, or Military ID or Current US Passport
- Proof of ALL household income for the last 30 days (i.e., check stubs, unemployment benefits, pension letter, veterans benefit letter, current year Social Security Award Letters, TANF, SNAP, child support etc.)
- Social Security Card or Social Security Numbers for all household members who have them
Electric Assistance
- Copy of current electric bill and/or termination notice
- Austin Energy Release of Information Authorization form (for Austin Energy customers only)
Gas/Propane/Water/Trash/Wood/Heating Oil Assistance
- Copy of current utility bill and/or termination notice
- ATMOS Release of Information Form (for ATMOS Energy customers only)
Weatherization and Home Repair Assistance
- Completed Landlord or Homeowner Agreement
Additional Documents Required for Federally Funded Utility Assistance (CEAP)
- Proof of US Citizenship for all members of your household: Government Issued Birth Certificate, or a Current US Passport (ask our staff about other documents that can be used to prove citizenship) OR
- Residency documentation for Immigrants: I-551 Permanent Resident Card (ask staff for additional acceptable residency documentation) AND
- Proof of identity for all members of your household: Current Photo ID issued by any governmental agency or school, or a concealed handgun license card (ask our staff about other allowed identity documents)
- SAVE form completed and signed
The above documents are required in order for us to determine eligibility. Incomplete applications are not accepted at the front desk and cannot be processed for financial assistance. Complete applications will be served in the order they are received and there is often a wait.
Please note: Additional documents may be needed to determine your eligibility for financial assistance when contacted by your assigned Caseworker.
