AGENDA

1. Call the meeting of the Travis County Juvenile Board to order.

2. Review and approve the June 2, 2022, minutes of the Travis County Juvenile Board meeting.

3. Receive Public Comment.

4. Receive update regarding the FY2023 Budget for the Travis County Juvenile Probation Department, and take any action deemed necessary.

5. Receive update regarding State Aid Financial Assistance Funding from the Texas Juvenile Justice Department for FY 2023 and take any action deemed necessary.

6. Review and approve operations of the Travis County Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP) for School Year 2022-23, and take any action deemed necessary for the following matters:

  1. Review and approve the Memorandum of Understanding between the Travis County Juvenile Board and the following School Districts: Austin, Del Valle, Eanes, Lake Travis, Lago Vista, Leander, Manor, Pflugerville, and Round Rock;
  2. Approve the application for a waiver of the required 180 days of operation;
  3. Approve the JJAEP General Operating Procedures; and
  4. Approve the Student and Parent Handbook

7. Discuss and approve setting the daily rate for School Year 2022-23 for Discretionary Category II students attending the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP) pursuant to Texas Education Code, Sec. 37.0081, and take any action deemed necessary.

8. Receive the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP) Annual Report for School Year 2021-22, and take any action deemed necessary.

9. Presentation of Travis County Juvenile Probation Restorative Justice Initiative from the District Attorney’s Office.

10. Receive the quarterly Facility and ANE Reports from the Juvenile Probation   Department staff pursuant to Title 37, Texas Administrative Code, Sec. 343.212(i).

11. Receive Chief’s Report:

  1. Proposal for new TCJPD Juvenile Probation Award.
  2. Update of TCJPD Compensation Adjustments.
  3. Masterplan Brochures.

12. EXECUTIVE SESSION:  Pursuant to Govt. Code Ann 551.074, Personnel Matter:  Receive update regarding Travis County Juvenile Probation Department employee.

13. Adjourn.

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 8.7 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $22.42.
