Travis County's Civil Courts are housed in the Heman Marion Sweatt Travis County Courthouse.

Our civil courts work to provide fair, effective and efficient resolutions to civil and family disputes in Travis County. The Travis County Civil Court system is comprised of eleven District Courts, four Associate Courts and two County Courts at Law.

The Latest News


The Travis County Civil District Judges have approved the following new or revised Standing Orders, effective as of January 1, 2020:

  1. A new Standing Order for Submission Procedures in Civil and Family Cases, effective for motions filed on or after January 1, 2020.
  2. A revised Standing Order in Limine (the prior version was known as the First Amended Standing Order in Limine for Trial of Civil Jury Cases).
  3. A revised Standing Pretrial Scheduling Order (the prior version was known as the Amended Standing Pretrial Scheduling Order for Trial of Civil Jury Cases Including Use of Electronic Media and was dated May 1, 2004).
  4. A revised and renamed Travis County Standing Order for Family Law Cases, which is effective for all family law cases filed on or after January 1, 2020 (the prior version was known as the Travis County Standing Order Regarding Children, Property, and Conduct of the Parties and was effective January 1, 2005).
