New Registration Process Available for Speaking at Commissioners Court

The online registration portal will be open from 8:00 pm two nights before the meeting until 8:00 am the day of the meeting.

About Travis County Commissioners Court

As a group, the commissioners and county judge are the chief policy-making and administrative branch of county government. Among their many functions, the court sets the tax rate, determines fees for many county services, and determines how the collected revenues will be distributed among different county departments to provide services to the community. You may contact the court at any time via email at [email protected].

Online Registration for In-Person and Remote Speakers

For regular Commissioners Court meetings, the online registration window will be open from 8:00 pm two nights before the meeting until 8:00 am the day of the meeting. When the registration window is open, information and links to the registration form will be available on our registration portal:

For example, if the meeting is on Tuesday, the registration form will open at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and close at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

Special-called meetings may have a different registration window.


 Please keep in mind:
  • Remote registration is not available after the online window closes.
  • Remote participants will be connected using the phone number provided on the registration form.
  • In-person attendees who register online will be called to speak when their item is reached on the agenda.
  • Be prepared to be called when the item is being taken up. If speaking remotely via cell phone, please ensure you are in a location with good reception. If you are using a wireless connection, please note your call may drop depending on the service.
  • Speaking time limits are determined at the discretion of the Commissioners Court.

 

In-Person Registration for In-Person Speakers, Same-Day Sign-up Only

For regular Commissioners Court meetings, the in-person registration window for all items will open at the beginning of the meeting.

You can register at registration table at the entrance of the Commissioners Courtroom.

The registration window for a specific item, public comment, or consent items will end when that item is called up by the Commissioners Court.

Please keep in mind:

  • Same day registration is only available for in person participation.
  • If you sign up to speak in person, please be present in the Courtroom when your agenda item is called up and the Commissioners Court call you for participation.

2024 TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 12.7 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $34.51.
