Please join us in congratulating our newest HHS Division
Directors Ana Almaguel and Monique Coleman!

Ana Almaguel is our Public Health Division Director. For the past 11 years she has served as Planning Project Manager for public health. Ana joined Travis County Health and Human Services in June 2005 after serving as a nutritionist in the Peace Corps in Guatemala.

Monique Coleman is our Supportive Housing Division Director. She also serves as CDBG Program Director, a position held since 2020. Her extensive background in neighborhood revitalization, city planning and housing will provide a wealth of knowledge beneficial to Travis County residents.

Extension of Public Comment Period to Comment on the Travis County CDBG PY24-28 Consolidated Plan and PY24 Action Plan

Travis County CDBG invites you to comment on the proposed PY24-28 Consolidated Plan and PY24 Action Plan. The invitation is available in English and Spanish (español). The public comment period has been extended to 32 days. Comments will be accepted beginning June 19, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. and ending on July 22, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. or by participating in a public hearing on July 16, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. The Public Comment draft and summaries in English and español are now available for review.

Travis County CDBG invites you to comment on the proposed substantially amended PY19-23 Consolidated Plan and PY23 Action Plan. The invitation is available in English and Spanish (español). The public comment period has been extended to 32 days. Invitation to attend CDBG PY24-28 ConPlan Fair Housing Assessment and Analysis of Impediments Public Hearing

Travis County invites the public to attend a public hearing that will be held on April 30, 2024, at 9:00 am at Travis County Commissioners Courtroom. Members of the public who wish to participate may appear in person or by calling the following toll-free number at the time of the public hearing: (800) 304-1055. The public can view the public hearing session online via a link that will be active by 9:00 am on the date of the public hearing, by clicking on the Commissioners Court Voting Session link for the specific public hearing date at: https://traviscotx.civicclerk.com/web/home.aspx. Residents within the Travis County CDBG service area jurisdiction, as well as residents from the central Texas region will have an opportunity to provide their opinions and valuable input on the Fair Housing Assessment and Analysis of Impediments, with a focus on housing and homelessness needs. The information collected will be instrumental in guiding the formulation of the CDBG Consolidated Plan for Program Years 2024 to 2028 (October 2024-September 2029). Invitation to Participate in the PY24-28 Fair Housing Assessment and Analysis of Impediments Survey

As part of the upcoming five-year PY24-28 Consolidated Plan and annual PY24 Action Plan, Travis County is conducting a Fair Housing Assessment and Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing survey to request input from the public within the Travis County CDBG Service Area as well as from residents throughout Central Texas.

The public is invited to take the PY24-28 Fair Housing Assessment Survey, which is available in English and in Spanish (en español), as well as a survey Regional Analysis of Impediments for organizations and focus groups (including residents) that is focused on determining whether impediments from five (5) years ago still exist and whether there are new impediments to consider.

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.5 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $9.12.
