Annual Reports

Each fiscal year, Travis County and the City of Austin, in conjunction with other agencies associated with the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve are required to submit an annual report to the US Fish and Wildlife Service to describe management, monitoring, mitigation, and research activities occurring within the Permit area. Reports are submitted by the end of January of each year and are made available to the public. For a copy of the latest report, please see the file below. Additionally, a complete copy of the previous year's report has also been included for your convenience. For questions, please contact us.

Land Management Plan

The 2007 Land Management Plan for the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve (BCP) was approved by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on March 4, 2008 (letter of approval). Management of the BCP will continue under this plan until revisions are made. Future revisions will be posted here.

The Land Management Plan describes how the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve is being managed and endangered species protected under the terms of the Balcones Canyonlands Conservation Plan (BCCP), a regional 10(a) permit issued on May 2, 1996 to the City of Austin and Travis County.
