Attorney, Criminal Defense Practice

Megan Rue

Megan's first experience with the criminal legal system was at a legal clinic that advocates for people inside California women's prisons. Seeing the strength and resiliency of the women she advocated for inspired Megan to attend law school at the University of Texas.

While she was at UT, Megan interned with the Special Litigation Unit of the Public Defender Service and the National Center for Law and Economic Justice, where she worked on impact litigation aimed at protecting the rights of low-income people accused of crimes. She also advocated for asylum seekers, survivors of domestic violence, and children in the juvenile justice system.

Before starting at the TCPDO, Megan practiced criminal law at Cofer & Connelly, PLLC, for over three years.
