Judge Grizzard was appointed to the Magistrate Court in March, 2009.

Judge Grizzard performs a variety of day to day judicial functions on behalf of the elected district judges and presides over specialty dockets providing thoughtful and appropriate consideration of defendants’ mental health issues as they relate to criminal conduct, with a goal of reducing recidivism and improving lives through appropriate treatment and services.

Additionally, all cases where a defendant has been found incompetent to stand trial are assigned to his court for restoration proceedings.

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 12.7 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $34.51.
