Best Management Practices

Travis County requires the owner of post-construction infrastructure, also referred to as post-construction best management practices (BMPs), to obtain a permit requiring maintenance and proper operation of the BMPs. Typically, a post-construction BMP is a sediment pond or sand filter on a common area lot. The owner responsible for obtaining the Travis County permit is typically the development’s property owner, a municipal authority such as a the water district, or a homeowner’s association.
