Precinct 3 Wedding Policies & Procedures – Effective August 1, 2023
All weddings performed on-site or via Zoom require a $200 non-refundable fee to be paid in advance.
Couples can book via email, phone, or in person. Couples are responsible for ensuring that Court knows payment has been made.
All dates and times are first come, first serve. Dates and times cannot be reserved without payment in full.
Couples are responsible for obtaining a license in advance and bringing it to the courthouse in advance or bringing it with them to the ceremony. Couples coming from out of the county may mail a license, but the couple is wholly responsible to ensure that the court receives the license at least 3 business days prior to the ceremony. For example: the couple must ensure court receives it the Wednesday before a Saturday or Sunday ceremony
Couples may reset their wedding date one time with 7 days’ notice. Additional resets will incur an additional $200 fee.
Ceremonies with the exchange of vows and/or rings are only scheduled for weekends.
License-signing-only weddings can be set during the week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays by appointment with prepayment.
WALK-IN WEDDINGS - Couples wishing to have a license signing can walk in without prepayment on Fridays from 2 -4 PM. However, they are strongly encouraged to call the court before arriving to ensure that Judge Holmes is available. License and payment in full are due at the time of arrival
Couples should inform the Court about the names they prefer to use in the ceremony and of their gender pronouns. If the couple does not provide their information in advance, Judge Holmes will use a nameless and genderless ceremony. Ex: Do you take this person to be your spouse? Vs. Do you, Wanda, take this man to be your husband?
Couples can select a standard ceremony (see below) or provide their own ceremony and vows to the judge in advance. Judge Holmes is happy to update you with your pronouns and titles!
