JP3 will be conducting business by phone and email Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm while our office goes through renovations. Our lobby will be closed to the public for renovations until further notice.
IMPORTANT NOTICE MUST READ:
Due to health and safety concerns regarding coronavirus (COVID-19), Justice of the Peace PCT. 3 will be operating with limited operations until further notice.
Please read:
- Standing Order Regarding COVID-19 for Justices of the Peace, Effective Date January 27, 2021
- City of Austin 60 Day Proposal of Eviction (Catch Up) – this ordinance was issued in March 25, 2020 and was most recently reauthorized on December 10 until May 5, 2021. This ordinance requires all landlords to provide tenants with a written 60 day catch up period before serving a Notice to Vacate. It must include the following language in size 16-point font, bold typeface, and underlined type: “A NOTICE OF PROPOSED EVICTION AND OPPORTUNITY TO PAY TO AVOID EVICTION – THIS NOTICE DOES NOT EXCUSE YOUR OBLIGATION TO PAY AND YOU CAN BE EVICTED IF YOU FAIL TO PAY BY THE PAYMENT DEADLINE BELOW.”
Note:
- All non-essential court proceedings will be rescheduled or held remotely until after April 1, 2021
- Residential evictions applicable to the court’s standing order will be abated until after April 1, 2021
- Writs of possession for cases applicable to the court’s standing order will continue to be abated until after April 1, 2021 if the defendant/tenant has filed a CDC Declaration with the court prior to execution
- Any jury trials must be tried remotely until April 1, 2021
- Class C ticket appearances are rescheduled until after April 1, 2021
- No warrants for failing to appear to court for Class C Misdemeanor violations will be issued until after April 1, 2021
