You can view a register of actions (summary of filed documents) for all public cases by clicking the link to Online Case Records portal below. Please visit the portal to start your search:

Note: The portal only includes the following cases:

  • Family/Civil: 2006 to the present
  • Criminal: 2008 to the present

All records can be accessed through the Online Case Records Search.

Unlike the general public, attorneys and law enforcement need to register to use the portal. Only active members of the State Bar of Texas who are in good standing to practice law and are subject to the disciplinary rules of the State Bar of Texas and Licensed Texas Certified Peace Officers are allowed to register.

 

Public Information Act Request


To request records subject to the Texas Public Information Act*, please send requests by email to [email protected] or mail to Travis County District Clerk Office, PO Box 679003, Austin, TX 78767 – Attn: District Clerk PIA or 1700 Guadalupe St., 3rd Floor, Austin, TX 78701. This is to request information from the Travis County District Clerk’s Office ONLY and not for any other County offices. Requests submitted for any other office or to any other email address will not receive a response. Please be very specific when making your requests for documents to avoid delays due to our seeking further clarification of your request.

*The Texas Public Information Act does not apply to judicial records. Judicial Records are records made or maintained by or for a court or judicial agency in its regular course of business and are governed by Rule 12 of the Texas Rules of Judicial Administration, or by other law, rule, or judicial decision.

Official/Certified/Authenticated Document Copies

Official, certified, and authenticated copies of court records can be obtained online, by mail, or in person.

The court records you can request include a certificate of divorce or name change, an original petition, a final judgement, etc.

Administrative records are records from state agencies when rulings are appealed to the district courts.

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.5 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $9.12.
