The Travis County District Clerk’s Office oversees several critical services for Central Texans. To improve the efficiency of the office, these services have been delegated to various divisions within the District Clerk’s Office.

Civil

This division oversees motor vehicle, contract, real estate, tax appraisal, and tax collection case records among others.

Criminal

This division oversees records related to adult felony criminal cases, felony non-disclosures, all expunctions, while also providing support for the District Courts.

Finance

This division is responsible for accounting of all financial transactions for the District Clerk’s Office. This includes collection of fines, court costs and registry of the court for both civil and criminal cases.

Family

This division oversees records related to divorces, lawsuits affecting parent-child relationships, name changes, and adoptions.

Jury Duty

Respond to a jury summons, claim an exemption, or learn more about your service as a juror.

Passports

Apply for a new passport or renew an existing one.

Case Information & Records Search

Search for online case information. Attorneys can print and download these documents for free.

Certified Court Documents Request

Request official or certified copies of court records, such as a certificate of divorce or name change, original petition, final judgement, and more, or request administrative records.

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.5 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $9.12.
