Ms. Ortega-Carter called the meeting to order.

A. Consider minutes of the March 5, 2025, meeting and take appropriate action.
Mr. Engle moved, Ms. Green seconded, and the Board voted to approve the March 5, 2025, minutes.

B. Consider the renewal application for Allegheny Casualty Company, agent Daniel Brenza dba ATX Bail Bonds 2 license # 052021, and take appropriate action.
Mr. Engle moved, Ms. Green Seconded, and the Board voted to approve the renewal application for Allegheny Casualty Company, agent Daniel Brenza dba ATX Bail Bonds 2 license # 052021.

C. Consider the new application for Financial Casualty & Surety Inc, agent Troy McLehany dba Freedom Bail Bonding and take appropriate action.
Mr. Engle moved, Judge Barrera seconded, and the Board voted to approve the new application for Financial Casualty & Surety Inc, agent Troy McLehany dba Freedom Bail Bonding.

D. Consider request from Jennifer Moreno dba Bail Bonds Express for a partial release of certificates of deposit being held as collateral for her license and take appropriate action.

Mr. Engle moved, Judge Barrera seconded, and the Board voted to approve Jennifer Moreno’s request for a partial release of certificates of deposit being held as collateral for her license.

E. Discuss request from Bankers Insurance Company for a special meeting to be set on the renewal application for agent John Zavala dba Around the clock Bail Bonds, license #203253, and take appropriate action. ¹

Mr. Blackburn moved, Judge Barrera seconded, and the Board voted for a special meeting to be set on April 30, 2025, at 12:30pm to discuss the renewal application from Bankers Insurance Company, agent John Zavala dba Around the clock Bail Bonds, license #203253.

F. Receive report from the Complaints subcommittee and take appropriate action.

Mr. Blackburn moved, Ms. Green seconded, and the board voted to recommend that the Board refer the matter to the Sheriff's Office to review and investigate.

G. Receive update from the County Attorney’s Office on the Travis County Bail Bond Board’s legislative agenda.

Ms. Cox provided an update to the Board of her meeting with the Travis County Intergovernmental Relations Office regarding the Board’s desire to modify the statute requiring monthly meetings. HB 3566 and SB 1549 have been filed and referred to the criminal justice committee.

H. Public Comment.
