Due to COVID-19, all jury trials and in-person appearances have been postponed until public safety concerns can adequately be addressed.
- In the 460th District Court, State v. William Martinez [D-1-DC-19-300684] was heard by a Travis County jury. The Defendant was charged with Aggravated Assault. The State and the Defense reached an agreement during jury deliberations for the Defendant to enter a guilty plea, waive appeal, and be sentenced to 2 years in prison.
- In the 450th District Court, State v. Omar Calderon [D-1-DC-20-904007], is being tried to a Travis County jury. The Defendant is charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and Indecency with a Child by Contact. The trial continues into the week of March 9, 2020.
- In the 299th District Court, a Travis County jury found the Defendant guilty of Aggravated Robbery in State v. Corey Donnell Davis-Grant [D-1-DC-19-301545]. Judge Karen Sage sentenced the Defendant to 25 years in prison.
- In the 460th District Court, a Travis County jury found the Defendant Not Guilty of Aggravated Assault, State v. Juan Leal (D-1-DC-18-900136).
- In the 331st District Court, State v. Julie Ward, a Travis County jury found the Defendant guilty of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and sentenced the Defendant to 4 years in prison.
- In the 427th District Court, a Travis County jury found the Defendant Guilty of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon/Family Violence, State v. Jamie Apodaca [D-1-DC-19-202030]. Following the jury verdict, the Defendant entered into a plea agreement with the State to 20 years in prison with a waiver of the right to appeal.
- In the Interest of D. H., M. H. and A. H. [D-1-FM-11-4725 & D-1-FM-12-006612] was tried before a jury and the jury found that the parental rights should be terminated.
- In the Interest of M.W., [D1-FM-17-003846], a Travis County jury elected to terminate the parental rights.
- In the 403rd District Court, State v. Asley Quesada-Diaz, [D-1-DC-19-200144], a Travis County jury convicted the Defendant of Sexual Assault and sentenced him to 3 years in prison.
- In the 460th District Court, State v. Roderick Landrum, [D1DC19900028], a Travis County jury was unable to reach a verdict. The Judge declared a mistrial and the case will be reset to be tried again. The Defendant was charged with Aggravated Assault.
- In the 427th District Court, State v. Edmundo Cisneroz, [D1DC18203683], a Travis County jury convicted the Defendant of 2 counts of Assault Family Violence by Strangulation, 1 Count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and 1 Count of Continuous Family Violence. The defendant has elected to go to the Judge for punishment and it has been reset to February 19.
- In the 147th District Court, State v. Edmundo Cisneroz, [D-1-DC-18-203683], was tried before a Travis County jury for the offense of Murder. The jury convicted the Defendant and assessed his punishment at 30 years confinement in prison.
- In the Interest of M.W., [D1-FM-17-003846], continues to be tried in front of Judge Karin Crump. The State is seeking termination of the parental rights.
- In the 167th District Court, a Travis County jury is hearing State v. Jose Rodriguez-Navarrete. The Defendant is charged with Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child, Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, and Indecency with a Child by Contact.
- The jury found the Defendant guilty of Aggravated Sexual Assault and Aggravated Robbery in the State v. David Green [D-1-DC-19-904057] in the 331st District Court. Judge Eldridge sentenced the Defendant to a term of confinement of 50 years in prison.
2019
- In the 403rd District Court, a Travis County Jury found the Defendant guilty of Manslaughter and Felon in Possession of a Firearm in State v. Antoine Kirkwood [D-1-DC-18-301185 & 18-900211]. The jury sentenced the Defendant to 50 years on the Manslaughter case and 20 years on the Possession of Firearm case.
- A Travis County jury was unable to reach an unanimous verdict in the Aggravated Assault case styled State v. William Martinez [D-1-DC-19-300684] tried in the 147th District Court during the week of December 9-13th. The Judge declared a misstrial following the hung jury.
- the 403rd District Court, the State of Texas vs. Lewis Hall, [D1DC18300597], tried before a Travis County jury. The jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict. Mistrial declared. The Defendant was charged with Sexual Assault.
- In the 450th District Court, the State of Texas vs. Kunta Green, [D1DC18301440], was being tried before a Travis County jury. The Defendant and the State entered into a negotiated plea for a term of community supervision after jury selection.
- In the 403rd District Court, State v. Traineir Frasier [D-1-DC-17-302234], the defendant was found Not Guilty by a Travis County jury of Sexual Assault.
- In the 331st District Court, State v. Joshua Tasby [D-1-DC-19-301137], the defendant pled guilty during jury selection (voir dire) and received a prison term for the offense of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
- In the 147th District Court, State v. Ordonus Lewis, [D-1-DC-18-300507], a Travis County jury found the defendant Not Guilty of the offense of Injury to a Child.
- In the 167th District Court, State v. Devin Anderson [D-1-DC-18-301005], a Travis County jury found the defendant Guilty of Aggravated Robbery and entered into an agreement with the State following the jury verdict to serve a term of 20 years in prison and waive his right to appeal.
- In the 299th District Court, State v. Brian Smith [D-1-DC-18-301829], the defendant entered a guilty plea in the middle of his trial for the offense of Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact. The Court sentenced Smith to 14 years in prison.
- In the Interest of E.G. A. [D-1-FM-18-003766] resulted in a Travis County jury terminating the parental rights of both the mother and father.
- In State v. Pontrey Jones [D-1-DC-19-904049], a Travis County jury found the Defendant guilty of Murder and sentenced him to life in prison.
- State v. Pontrey Jones [D-1-DC-19-904049] is being tried in the 403rd District Court to a Travis County jury. The Defendant is charged with Murder.
- In the 147th District Court, a Travis County jury found the Defendant guilty of Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child in State v. Eleazar Huerta [D-1-DC-18-302813/814]. Judge Clifford Brown sentenced the Defendant to 60 years in prison following the jury verdict
- In the 403rd District Court, State v. Gary Burnett [D-1-DC-16-300703], the defendant was charged with Sexual Assault. The jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict and the Judge declared a mistrial/hung jury.
- In the Interest of L.H-K [D-1-FM-18-00626] & In the Interest of N.K. [D-1-FM-19-000126], are being tried in front of Judge Lora Livingston. In both cases, the State is seeking the termination of parental rights. The Judge has taken the matter under advisement and requested additional briefing on legal matters. The case has been reset to October 9, 2019.
- State v. Derek Grinstead [D-1-DC-18-207262] in the 390th District Court. The Defendant was found guilty of Aggravated Sexual Assault by a Travis County jury. Sentencing will be on November 8 in front of Judge Julie Kocurek.
- In the 167th District Court, State v. Michaiah Sample [D-1-DC-15-600084]. The Defendant was found guilty of Indecency with a Child by a Travis County jury and the jury began deliberations today on the punishment phase of the trial. The Jury sentenced the Defendant to 7 years community supervision.
- In the 147th District Court, State v. Stephen Zuniga Rojas [D-1-DC-18-500326] is being tried to a Travis County jury. The Defendant is charged with Assault Family Violence with Strangulation.
- In the 331st District Court, State v. Marlon Hardeman [D-1-DC-19-904041] is being tried to a Travis County jury. The Defendant is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon case.
- In the 403rd District Court, State v. Santiago Toscano [D-1-DC-18-208322], a Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Sexual Assault case is being tried to a jury.
- In the 331st District Court, State v. Christopher Vidrio [D-1-DC-19-904040] a Travis County jury returned a guilty verdict for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. The Defendant received an automatic life sentence.
- In the 147th District Court, State v. David Dewey-Haagensen [D-1-DC-18-500070], the jury sentenced the Defendant to a term of probation for the offense of Robbery. The Defendant pled guilty to the jury prior to the punishment hearing.
- In the 403rd District Court, State v. Casey Cox [D-1-DC-18-300521]. The Defendant was found guilty of Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child and sentenced to 80 years in prison by the jury.
- In the 390th District Court, State v. Freddie Garcia [D-1-DC-18-904051]. The State and the Defendant entered into an agreement for the Defendant to plead guilty to the offense of Assault Family Violence with a Prior Family Violence Conviction and, in exchange, the State agreed to a lesser punishment range of 2-20 years in prison and for the punishment hearing to be in front of the Court with an agreed waiver of jury sentencing.
- In the Interest of MH [D-1-FM-16-004591], a jury returned a verdict to terminate the custodial rights
- Judge Dustin Howell is presiding over a parental termination case styled In the Interest of W in the 200th District Court.
- In the 167th District Court, State v. Marcus Reed [D-1-DC-19-904030 (Sexual Assault), 19-904029 (Agg Perjury), and 19-904028 (Official Oppression)]. Jury found Reed guilty of Aggravated Perjury and 1 count of Official Oppression and was unable to reach a unanimous verdict on the Sexual Assault and additional Official Oppression counts. Jury sentenced Reed to 10 years probation on the Aggravated Perjury case and to 1 year in the county jail for the Official Oppression case. The State plans to retry the Sexual Assault case at a later date.
- In the 299th District Court, State v. Alexander Holland [D-1-DC-17-300173/19-904012]. The Defendant was convicted by the jury of Murder and sentenced to 55 years in prison.
- In the 427th District Court, State v. Collins [D-1-DC-17-205771/772]. The Defendant was charged with two Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon offenses. The jury found the Defendant not guilty of both Aggravated Assault charges but found him guilty of 2 counts of Deadly Conduct, a misdemeanor. Sentencing will be before the Judge at a later date.
- In the 345th District Court, Judge Jan Soifer is hearing In the Interest of MH [D-1-FM-16-004591]. The case involves the conservatorship of a minor child and will continue into next week.
- In the 450th District Court, State of Texas vs. Charles Reedy [D-1-DC-17-300977], Defendant was found guilty of Murder by the jury. Defendant was sentenced to 25 years by Judge Urrutia.
- In the 403rd District Court, State of Texas vs. Santiago Toscano, Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Sexual Assault [D-1-DC-18-208322].
- Declared a mistrial, as a jury could not be seated. Case will be retried.
- In the 390th District Court, State v. Eddie Chapa [D-1-DC-16-301468]. The defendant was found not guilty of the offense of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.
- In the 167th District Court, State v. Marcus Reed [D-1-DC-19-904030 (Sexual Assault), 19-904029 (Agg Perjury), and 19-904028 (Official Oppression)].
- Trial continues this week.
- In the 450th District Court, Judge Brad Urrutia sentenced David DeLuna to 10 years on deferred adjudication with electronic monitoring and other standard conditions of probation after DeLuna pled guilty to the charges of Aggravated Assault and Deadly Conduct.
- In the 167th District Court, Judge David Wahlberg sentenced Damon Benavides to 15 years in prison for the offense of Aggravated Assault against a Public Servant and Resisting Arrest with a Deadly Weapon.
- Benavides pled guilty to the charge and requested that punishment be assessed by the Court.
- In the 403rd District Court, State v. Jacob Busbee [D-1-DC-18-300684/19-904034], charged with Stalking.
- Jury returned a guilty verdict and sentenced the Defendant to 13 years in prison.
- In the 167th District Court, State v. Devin Anderson [D-1-DC-18-301004/005], two Aggravated Robbery cases.
- Case will be reset because a jury could not be seated.
- In the 427th District Court, Judge Tamara Needles sentenced Tiffany Wade to 10 years in prison for the offense of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
- Wade was recently convicted by a jury of this offense and had requested that sentencing be done by the Court.
- In the 147th District Court, State v. Jereme Rucker [D-1-DC-19-201667/668 consolidated for trial] charged with Aggravated Assault.
- Guilty verdict by the Jury. Jury recommended a 3 year term of community supervision to the Court for punishment.
- In the 427th Court, Assault Family Violence w/prior conviction, State v. Thomas Lenzy [D-1-DC-19-200798].
- Guilty verdict by the Jury. Defendant's punishment range was a minimum of 25 years to Life in prison due to his status as a Habitual offender. Following the guilty verdict, the State and Defense entered into an agreement for 20 years in prison and a waiver of appeal.
- In the 147th District Court, State v. Jalen Veliz [D-1-DC-18-300918], this case is continued from last week and the jury has returned a verdict of Guilty to the offense of Murder. The jury sentenced the defendant to 24 years in prison late Tuesday.
- In the 167th District Court, State of Texas v. Corey Chandler [D-1-DC-18-904055]. The defendant is charged with Sexual Assault.
- In the 390th District Court, State v. Kimberly Orozco [D-1-DC-17-301240; D-1-DC-17-900123]. The defendant is charged with Murder and Aggravated Assault.
- In the 450th District Court, State v. Juan Del Toro [D-1-DC-18-204174], a Manslaughter case that is being tried as an Aggravated Assault.
- In the 147th District Court, State v. Jalen Veliz [D-1-DC-18-300918], the charged offense is Murder.
- And in the 427th District Court, State v. Nicholas Cornelius Smith [D-1-DC-17-302280], the charged offense is Sexual Assault. RESULT: The defendant was found Not Guilty of Sexual Assault.

- In the 390th, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, styled State v. Kristopher Black [D-1-DC-18-206551]. RESULT: GUILTY, SENTENCING LATER IN THE MONTH BY THE COURT
- In the 403rd, State v. Frankie DeLeon [D-1-DC-18-907134], DWI - 3rd Offense. RESULT: GUILTY, STATE AGREED TO PROBATION AFTER VERDICT AND DEFENDANT WAIVED RIGHT TO APPEAL
- And in the 450th, styled State v. Miguel Rodriguez [D-1-DC-19-300097], Theft - 3rd Offender. RESULT: GUILTY, 7 MONTHS in the State Jail Facility, punishment by the Court.

- In the 403rd District Court, State v. Frankie DeLeon [D-1-DC-18-907134], DWI - 3rd Offense.
- In the 147th District Court, State v. Diedrich Holgate [D-1-DC-18-301636], charged with Obstruction or Retaliation.
- In the 331st District Court, Aggravated Assault causes Serious Bodily Injury case, State v. Walter Pryon [D-1-DC-17-302440].
- In the 299th District Court, Indecency with a Child by Contact and Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child (2 different victims) in State vs. Ivan Hernandez-Ramirez [D-1-DC-17-300365/D-1-DC-17-100058].
- In the 299th District Court, State vs. Ivan Hernandez-Ramirez, the jury returned guilty verdicts for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child and Indecency with a Child. The jury sentenced the Defendant to 38 years in prison on the Continuous charge, and 20 years in prison to run concurrently on the Indecency by contact charge.
- In the 147th District Court, State v. Diedrich Holgate, the judge declared a mistrial after mental health experts determined the Defendant was incompetent to stand trial.
- In the 331st District Court, State v. Walter Pryon [D-1-DC-17-302440], the jury found the Defendant guilty of the lesser offense of Assault Bodily Injury, a Class A misdemeanor, and sentenced him to 1 year probation with the maximum fine.
