NACo Achievement Awards is a non-competitive program recognizing outstanding county government programs and services in 18 categories.

2019 NACo award

Auditor’s Office named as FY 2019 Achievement Award Winner in:

Personnel Management, Employment and Training (Employee Tuition Reimbursement Automation).

2018 NACo award

Auditor’s Office named as FY 2018 Achievement Award Winner in:

Civic Education and Public Information (Prompt Pay YouTube Video – in collaboration with Purchasing Office); Information Technology (Vendor Payment Register application); and Personnel Management, Employment and Training (HIPAA Online Training Course – in collaboration with the County Privacy/Compliance Officer).

Auditor’s Office named as FY 2017 Achievement Award winner in:

Financial Management (Electronic Revenue Certification Form); Information Technology (Vendor Self-Service application); and Personnel Management, Employment and Training (SAP Employee Self-Service Online Courses and Videos for new employees).

2018 - The Travis County Auditor’s Office created an online, fillable form with digital signature capabilities to streamline the process of obtaining “related party” disclosures from current and former County employees in accordance with Governmental Accounting Standards Board Statement (GASB) No. 62 requirements. The single form incorporated both the actual disclosure certification as well as the list of vendors for the employee to review and check off to indicate any association with a particular vendor.

The Comptroller’s office launched the Transparency Stars program in March 2016 to recognize cities, counties and school districts making important strides to greater government transparency. Local government entities can apply for stars in the areas of:

  • Traditional Finances
  • Contracts and Procurement
  • Economic Development
  • Public Pensions
  • Debt Obligations

Travis County is the latest local government entity to achieve specific transparency goals through the Comptroller’s Transparency Stars program. Travis County received a star in the area of Traditional Finances, which recognizes entities for their outstanding efforts in making their spending and revenue information available.
