Phase 2 (Complete)

Phase 2 of Public Engagement began in January 2019.  County staff shared proposed transportation projects, programs, and studies from a draft version of the Blueprint and asked the public to comment. Travis County received a total of 13,453 survey responses online and at in-person events. The County also received 494 open-ended comments on a variety of topics (e.g., traffic congestion, safety, transit, bike lanes, sidewalks, and climate change).

Phase 1 (Complete)

The County began the planning process in August 2016 with a robust public engagement effort to understand the priorities and needs of residents to incorporate into the Plan. The County received over 5,800 surveys, 500 mapped comments, and 7,000 general comments through surveys, an online mapping tool, email, and at meetings. County staff has reviewed and analyzed all input and summarized it in a report:

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.5 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $9.12.
