Overview

The Northeast Community Advisory Committee (CAC) will be active partners in the Northeast District planning process and, in efforts to ensure community input, will be central to ultimately shaping how the area moves toward an equitable future.
Members will share community perspectives, help identify community needs, and support outreach to residents, businesses, organizations, and other stakeholders connected to the area.
The CAC will create a Collaborative Engagement Plan (CEP) for consideration by both the City Manager’s Office and Commissioners Court. The CEP will build upon previous work and will serve as a living document that includes communication and feedback loops that inform continued design and implementation of a final Plan. Once approved, the CAC will participate in making recommendations on items related to the final Plan.

The CAC will consist of 20 members. 10 members will represent City of Austin residents within the District and 10 members will represent Travis County residents within the District. 5 of the City of Austin representatives will represent the key stakeholder organizations identified in the ILA (Colony Park Neighborhood Association, RBI Austin, Equidad ATX, Austin Revitalization Authority, and Colony Park/Lakeside CDC).
Supports to reduce barriers to participation will be offered, such as bus passes, gas cards, parking validation, interpretation, supervised children’s activities for meetings, and refreshments at meetings.
The CAC is projected to meet monthly for 12–24 months.
