G.R.E.A.T Gang Resistance Education And Training
Constable Precinct 1 has a select number of deputies that are certified to teach the "G.R.E.A.T." Programs which stands for "Gang Resistance Education And Training" (G.R.E.A.T.) The program is an evidence-based and effective gang and violence prevention program built around school-based, law enforcement officer-instructed classroom curriculum.
The Program is intended as an immunization against delinquency, youth violence, and gang membership for children in the years immediately before the prime ages for introduction into gangs and delinquent behavior.

Travis County Constable Precinct 1 gives youth an opportunity to work in the summer at various locations within the county. Our office employs numerous students each summer.
