The Travis County Commissioners Court approved the Summary Report on September 29, 2026. The report is a foundational document summarizing the existing conditions, current efforts, and plans related to a wide variety of topics. A total of 26 topics were identified for inclusion in the Summary Report.
Summary Report Overview and Executive Summary
The Summary Report is a foundational document summarizing the existing conditions, current efforts, and plans related to a wide variety of topics. City and County Working Group members spent over a year gathering previous plans, reports, projects, previous community engagement, land use, assets and more totaling about 100 data files related to 26 issue areas.
The theme and one of the core purposes of the Northeast collaborative project is to address previous inequities and promote inclusive development. To address the issue of historic inequity in the review of existing conditions, an Equity Check that was conducted to assess the level of community engagement, use of disaggregated data, and equity outcomes in the data collected for the report. The Equity Check is presented in the Report as Appendix C.
The Summary Report was shared with the public from June 5-July 6, 2026. Comments are captured in Appendix D.1 along with comments from Austin Water in Appendix D.2.
The Summary Report does not propose new policies or action items for the NEDP or its stakeholders, as those are intended to be derived and prioritized through the engagement process.
