Travis County’s annual Sustainability Report for fiscal year 2022 is now available at Reports (traviscountytx.gov). This link also provides the annual reports for previous years.

The annual report is created by the Sustainability Program. The purpose of the Sustainability Program is to instill accountability within Travis County to reduce our impact on the environment. The Program helps promote reducing energy use, conserving resources, and engaging employees and residents to take part in County conservation efforts.

Each year, the Sustainability Program presents a report to share Travis County’s greenhouse gas emissions, as well as our operational performance in areas such as energy and water consumption, recycling and waste diversion, transportation, and community engagement. The report summarizes major environmental projects, programs, or success stories that occurred throughout the fiscal year (Oct 1 – Sept 30).

On June 2, 2020, the Travis County Commissioners Court unanimously approved the County’s first-ever Climate Action Plan. The Plan is intended to be a roadmap for lessening the environmental impacts of County operations. In addition to Travis County’s organizational performance and major environmental projects, programs, and success stories, the annual Sustainability Report focuses on short-term priorities outlined in the Climate Action Plan.
