Mission

The mission of Travis County Information Technology Services (ITS) is to provide quality technology services to County elected officials, departments, and the residents of Travis County in the execution of their responsibilities through dependable, innovative technology services. ITS is committed to becoming the technology strategic leader and partner for Travis County departments, elected officials, and their constituents.

Goals

Information Technology Services collaborates with all Travis County departments and offices. We are service-based, support organization. Therefore, our customers’ objectives are our objectives. We strive to help our line offices and departments to increase visitors to our parks, voters to the polls, efficiency and safety in our jails, increase the timeliness of cases handled in our courts, and numerous other services offered by Travis County. We accomplish this through the following strategic objectives:

  1. Ensure anytime, anything, anywhere access to information
  2. Ensure information is always available, accurate and secure
  3. Increase Travis County workforce effectiveness through better access to information
  4. Enhance Travis County service delivery through optimizing the use of the information we possess

Objectives

  • Customer Experience: Provide quality technology solutions and services that meet business needs
  • Employee Enrichment: Invest in ITS employees to both retain and improve their skills
  • Countywide IT Strategic Planning: Work to ensure strong collaboration among ITS and other departments/offices
  • Standards: Collaboratively develop countywide standards to ensure Travis County can maximize our IT investment
  • Lifecycle Management: Develop a total cost of ownership management strategy that encompasses all aspects of information systems
  • Proactive Monitoring: Prevent issues/outages through monitoring applications, networks, computers to understand how services are performing
  • Digital Government: Move as much as is practical from paper to digital workflow
  • Information Security: Ensure the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of Travis County information
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop the policies, tools, procedures and test plans to ensure Travis County service delivery can best recover from disruptions to service
  • Cloud First: Use cloud-based services first where it meets the requirements and is fiscally appropriate
