The Community Forum will be an opportunity for Austin residents to learn about the proposal to construct four toll lanes on Mopac, between Cesar Chavez and Slaughter Lane. The proposal also includes elevated lanes over Lady Bird Lake with a flyover next to Austin High School onto Cesar Chavez.
This toll road project is a proposal from the CTRMA, our local toll road authority, and TxDOT. The CAMPO Board, the Austin area region’s transportation authority, will be voting soon on whether to approve this proposal, with public comment ending on April 2nd.
The Community Forum will include presentations by CTRMA on the South Mopac proposal and by Keep Mopac Local (a coalition of concerned community groups). The Forum will also include a question/answer session.
