HATC and SHFC Appointments was created by SarahEckhardt
Colleagues, we have another resignation from the overlapping boards of the Housing Authority of Travis County (HATC) and the Strategic Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) – Mr. Phil Barnes. Mr. Barnes served on the HATC board only.

At this juncture, we have had four resignations that represent five positions. We have at least the following options regarding the appointments:

Number of appointments
o Make four appointments with the same overlapping board assignments as the predecessors;
o Make five distinct appointments;
o Make five distinct appointments now with the intention of appointing three new individuals to SHFC at the expiration of the overlapping board members’ terms, thus ending the overlapping board arrangement.
Duration of the Appointments - in acknowledgment that newly hired staff may have organizational recommendations that call for a different arrangement of board assignments or a different skill set among board members, we could, for example, appoint for one or two-year terms for both boards.
