Facilities Management Department Mission Statement

To manage and provide professional and technical services for project management, planning, design, construction, maintenance, operations and leases for Travis County facilities that effectively and efficiently meet the economic and functional needs of Travis County.

The Facilities Management Department (FMD) overview are as follows:

    1. 248 full time employees
    2. 37 part time and seasonal employees
  1. FMD manages 80 County facilities which account for 3,240,381 square feet
  1. The FMD managed a total budget $498,793,275 which consists of:
    1. General Fund, Operating = $4,973,841
    2. General Fund, Payroll = $14,124,397
    3. Leases = $14,092,237
    4. Utilities = $4,942,678
    5. Revenue Funds = $2,355,413
    6. Project Fund (Active Projects):
      1. Certificate of Obligation = $439,031,473
      2. Capital Acquisition Reserves = $12,482,366
      3. Other Fund Sources = $995,410.

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.5 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $9.12.
