Project Background
In 2005, Travis County voters approved a $62 million parks bond package that included $8.6 million earmarked for developing an Onion Creek Greenway. The geographic scope of the concept plan is between the confluence of Onion Creek and Slaughter Creek at one terminus and between the confluence of Onion Creek and the Colorado River at the other. Travis County Parks is focusing development first from SH 183 east to the confluence of the Colorado River and second from SH 183 west to McKinney Falls State Park.
