Message from CAC Chair, Julia Spann
The Travis County Commissioners Court appointed 26 diverse citizens to serve on a Citizens Advisory Committee to study how we can ensure adequate civil court facilities to meet the needs of our growing County. Our job is to advise and provide input to the facility planners on the many important issues that must be considered – affordability, safety, growth and adequacy, accessibility, location, sustainability and more. I think I can speak for the esteemed members of this committee that we take this responsibility seriously. We all want to ensure that justice is available and accessible in an environment that is supportive of the citizens who will use our civil courts in the future. The good news is that we have a magnificent team of staff to work with; and a creative and committed Commissioners Court who are anxious for citizen participation in this project. As a committee we will work to be transparent, please check out this website to see all that we are studying.
