Heroin, cocaine, speed, and pills laced with fentanyl can kill you.

In the first half of 2022, opioid overdoses killed almost 200 people in Travis County. That’s more than twice the number of deaths from suicide and car wrecks.

Here in our community, drugs like Adderall and Xanax – and party drugs like Molly – are being laced with Fentanyl, a lethal opioid that’s deadlier than heroin. In fact, Fentanyl equal to the amount of two grains of salt can kill you.

All of us are affected by the opioid overdose crisis. It doesn’t matter where you live, your race or age, or how much money you have. Opioids impact our relationships, health, education, businesses, and economy – our entire community.

That’s why Travis County, Austin Public Health, Central Health, and Integral Care, as the Austin-Travis County Opioid Awareness Coalition, are working together to bring attention to the opioid overdose crisis affecting our community.

On this site, you’ll find resources to:

  • Prevent overdose deaths from illegal drugs and the use of drugs not prescribed to you.
  • Identify the signs of opioid use and opioid overdose.
  • Learn how to talk to your teenager
  • Know where to find treatment options, support groups, harm reduction resources, Narcan, and more
  • Learn how to use Narcan to reverse an opioid overdose

Learn the dangers, know the signs, and know how to get help. One dose and it’s over.
