U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has designated May 2 - 6, 2022, as National Air Quality Awareness Week. This year’s theme is Be Air Aware and Prepared! Travis County encourages everyone to check the Air Quality Index (AQI) daily at AirNow.gov. The AQI tells you how clean or polluted your air is and what associated health effects might result. This year’s topics are:
- Wildfires & Smoke
- Asthma and Your Health
- Citizen Science/Air Quality Sensors
- Environmental Justice Communities & Air Quality
- Air Quality Around the World
