Today, Travis County launched a new feature on its website: a Service Directory.

What is a Service Directory?

This new page is a catalog of all publicly funded efforts, programs and resources provided by Travis County to benefit the constituents. The directory allows the public to find over 1,000 County services, programs and resources in one centralized location.

How do I use it?

The constituents can access frequently sought after services in more than one way:

  • By using the page’s search tool;
  • By filtering through concrete service categories such as “Financial Assistance,” “Certificates, Permits & Licenses” and “Culture & Recreation”;
  • By using the alphabetical scroll bar to quickly jump to certain letters in the directory.

The service categories emerged from web analytics data and usability studies with the public to ensure the content is organized in a way that makes sense to our users.

How can I share my feedback and suggestions?

Travis County welcomes and encourages feedback on the Service Directory feature. If you’d like to ask a question or leave a suggestion, please fill out our website feedback form.

This Service Directory launch is the first step to the Travis County website redesign effort that entails a complete revamp, redesign, rebuild of traviscountytx.gov. Our hope is to use this as a stepping stone to a much larger conversation about updating content and navigation of the website to make information clearer and more accessible to all constituents.
