Over the next five years, Travis County is eligible to receive an estimated $5,821,205 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to benefit Travis County low- to moderate-income residents who live in the unincorporated areas of the county or the Villages of Webberville and San Leanna. A five-year Consolidated Plan has been drafted to identify the community needs and strategic direction to guide the use of funds. Furthermore, an Action Plan for Program Year 2019 (PY19), October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020, has been drafted detailing how the funds will be spent in PY19. Travis County will receive $1,164,240 in PY19.

You may comment on the proposed PY19-23 Consolidated Plan and PY19 Action Plan by attending a public hearing or by sending your comments in writing via postal mail or e-mail.

Comment Period and Draft Documents

Comments will be accepted for 30 days beginning July 3, 2019 at 8:00 a.m. and ending August 1, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. Beginning July 3, 2019, drafts of the proposed documents and related summaries will be available for download on the Travis County CDBG webpage at: https://www.traviscountytx.gov/cdbg or available for review at any of the seven Travis County Community Centers. TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.5 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $9.12.
