Commissioners Court Calls for Recommendations to Name the Travis County Existing PCT2 Building located at 10409 Burnet Road, Austin Texas.

The Travis County Commissioners Court voted today to issue the call to submit recommendations to name the Travis County existing PCT2 Building located at 10409 Burnet Road, Austin, Texas.

The Travis County Commissioners Court encourages any private citizen or group to make a recommendation regarding the naming of the Travis County existing PCT2 Building located at 10409 Burnet Road, Austin, Texas.

All recommendations must be in writing. If recommendation is to name the existing building after an individual:

  • The individual must have made a significant contribution to Travis County; and
  • The recommendation must include a biographical sketch of the individual.

The deadline to submit recommendations is Friday, December 14, 2018. A public discussion will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2018 at 9:00 a.m., in the Commissioners Courtroom on the first floor, 700 Lavaca Street, Austin, TX 78701 (Map).

Schedule:

Friday, December 14, 2018 – deadline to receive recommendations for the naming.

Tuesday, January 15, 2019 – Commissioners Court Public Hearing and action item to send submissions to the Travis County Historical Commission for review and comment.

Wednesday, February 13, 2019 – Travis County Historical Commission meets to review and comment on the submissions.

Tuesday, February 19, 2019 – The Facilities Management Department will place a Commissioners Court agenda item for the Commissioners Court to receive the comments from Travis County Historical Commission and consider the naming of the building.

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.5 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $9.12.
