Travis County OEM and our regional partners are monitoring the progress of Tropical System Harvey closely. The path and severity of this storm is uncertain, its behavior is difficult to predict.

At this time:

  • The State of Texas has not requested that we open any shelters for Hurricane evacuees. However, we will be prepared to do so if needed for State or Local needs.
  • The State is activating some of their statewide capabilities in response to TS Harvey
  • We will monitor the changing forecasts and send out appropriate advisories.
  • No local conference calls are scheduled, but we may do so as the storm nears.
  • No ATCEOC Activation is currently planned. However, that could change as the storm approaches.
  • Departments with field or EOC duties should begin to consider the potential of rain/flood operations through the weekend and into next week.

Maintain situational awareness:

  • Monitor reputable media for weather updates.
  • Follow/Monitor Travis County Emergency Service Facebook and Twitter.
  • Sign-up for local government emergency alerts at: www.WarnCentralTexas.org.
  • TC Office of Emergency Management will continue to provide updated information as necessary.
