The Leadership Academy: People 50+ Leading the Way to Civic Engagement will offer participants the leadership training and motivation to become Coming of Age Volunteer Team Leaders, in self-directed teams, who assume leadership positions in local nonprofit organizations.

Leadership Academy participants will build on their life experiences, education, skills, and personal strengths as they complete a fifteen-hour training.

Training sessions will be held Sept. 7, 2016 & Sept. 12-15, 2016.

After completing the Leadership Academy, Coming of Age Volunteer Team Leaders will be prepared to apply their skills and expertise, as they form self-directed teams in leadership roles, with Coming of Age Academy Partners.

Each Academy Partner has developed a project to be completed by self-directed, Volunteer Team Leaders. Community-based projects have been designed to take full advantage of the life experiences, education, skills, and personal strengths of the Leadership Academy graduates as well as the competencies and abilities attained through the Leadership Academy training.

Applications will be accepted until June 30, 2016.

Per your supervisor’s approval, this training can be classified as training hours.
