Homicide Is The Leading Cause Of Death During Pregnancy

Join the Austin/Travis County Family Violence Task Force for this Domestic Violence Awareness Month event on October 19, at 7:30pm, to view the documentary Finding Jenn’s Voice at the Alamo Draft House, 1120 S. Lamar Blvd.

The movie covers the case of 27-year old veterinary technician, Jennifer Snyder of Allentown, PA who was murdered by her boyfriend on March 16, 2011, after he learned she was pregnant. Veterinarian David Rapoport was arrested, plead guilty to avoid the death penalty, and is serving two life sentences.

Jenn’s case seemed unusual since there was no known history of violence in the relationship. Was it possible there were warning signs that she missed after the film’s director spoke with domestic violence experts and survivors from around the country, it was learned that there are many cases like Jenn’s. Through these conversations, the film paints a picture of the anatomy of abusive relationships that looks beyond the black eye. To learn more about the film go to: http://findingjennsvoice.com
