Historical Marker
The Official Texas Historical Marker program helps bring attention to community treasures and the importance of their preservation, to help guarantee the preservation of our state’s history.
A subject qualifies for a marker if two basic criteria are met:
- age
- historical significance.
Historical significance is established by reviewing the proposed designee's role and importance in local history. The age requirement depends on the topic.
TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 12.7 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $34.51.
