Good afternoon,
Attached is the backup for Tuesday, July 26 for agenda item # 7: Receive presentation on budget hearing procedures.
It is requested that members of the Commissioners Court prioritize up to six budget hearing topics for possible discussion on Thursday, August 18th (with a possible second session on August 19th). Commissioners Court members are asked to either upload priority items to the online message board here or submit these items directly to the County Judge’s Office by August 3rd for scheduling purposes.
Questions about this process may be directed to the Planning and Budget Office at 512-854-9106. Thank you.

Below is an estimated schedule for that afternoon:
PBO/Auditor's Office Presentation of Preliminary Budget – 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm
Sheriff’s Office – Law Enforcement Staffing – 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm
HHSVS/AISD External Request – AISD Parent Support Specialists – 2:30 pm to 2:45 pm
Justice of the Peace, Pct. 2 – Increased Funding for Accounting Positions – 2:45 pm to 2:55 pm
Break – 2:55 pm to 3:05 pm
TNR – New GIS Analyst Community Wildfire Protection – 3:05 pm to 3:15 pm
TNR – Community Wildfire Protection Specialist – 3:15 pm to 3:25 pm
TNR – County Transportation Draft Plan Development and Phase II Public
Engagement – 3:25 pm to 3:45 pm
TNR – Compliance with Universal Waste Regulations – 3:45 pm to 3:55 pm

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 8.7 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $22.42.
