Judge Brown and I are writing in a request on our budget worksheet to be considered by the Court in mark-up.  Grants Administration - We are requesting that two FTEs be created in the County’s Intergovernmental Relations Office. The new positions are for a Grants Administrator and a Grants Manager to maximize the County’s access to the federal and state funding now flowing to communities under the Inflation Reduction Act, Federal Infrastructure  and Jobs Act,  the American Rescue Plan Act. We need to build this capacity rapidly because competition over this funding has already begun and will grow tremendously in the coming months. It is envisioned that this will be the start of a more coordinated County program to obtain grants and outside funding  –whether federal state or private—to address county needs across  all our governmental functions  We envision these employees will work closely with Departments across the county to research and apply for  grant opportunities, adding capacity to secure and manage grant funds. We believe that the funding required for these two new  positions will be as  follows: 1 FTE Paygrade 24 - mid range $75,000 1 FTE Paygrade 28 - mid range $94,000 We hope you will also add these to your worksheet for discussion.
