1. If things in your relationship don’t feel right to you, talk to someone you trust about it.
  2. Decide which friend, teacher, relative or police officer you can go to in an emergency.
  3. Contact a domestic violence advocate, a representative from the County or District Attorney’s Office or a victim services counselor from a law enforcement agency to learn how to obtain a protective order or restraining order and make a safety plan.
  4. Remember – you should never have to feel afraid in your relationship.
