Travis County Judge Sarah Eckhardt
Effective January 27, 2017
I am honored to recognize the commitment of two people in the eyes of the State.
Although I do not provide much in the way of ceremony (all it takes is the signing of appropriate documents), it gives me great joy to officiate in my office so that the happy couple can get on to the celebrating. I sign wedding documents (and 72-hour waiver applications) by appointment in my office as set forth below:
Fridays from 4:00PM-5:00PM, as available (except when Travis County is closed due to a County holiday or inclement weather). My office is located at 700 Lavaca Street, Suite 2.300, Austin, TX 78701.
Please make an appointment through my office by calling 512-854-9555 or by emailing Maya.Reisman@traviscountytx.gov. I am unable to accommodate walk-ins. I recommend arriving 15 minutes before a scheduled appointment to ensure street parking is available.
Couples must present a valid identification and a Texas marriage license on their wedding day.
Marriage licenses may be obtained through the Travis County Clerk’s office location at 5501 Airport Boulevard, Austin, TX 78751. Questions regarding marriage licenses should be directed to the Travis County Clerk’s office at 512-854-9188.
After couples have obtained their license, they may schedule an appointment through the Office of the County Judge. Appointments are only accepted for couples with their license. To schedule an appointment, call 512-854-9555. You may also email your request to Maya.Reisman@traviscountytx.gov.
There is no fee.
Photos and video cameras are allowed only in the area where the signing is occurring.
Official witnesses are not required. However, friends and family are welcome. We just ask for your understanding that the wedding is occurring in a busy office atmosphere.
