Attorney, Criminal Defense Practice

Jackson Downs

Jackson first became interested in public defense after working with the Richmond Community Bail Fund. There, he helped to free people who were incarcerated because they didn’t have the money to pay for their freedom. This experience led to him attending Emory Law School in Atlanta, where he represented clients through Emory’s Juvenile Defense Clinic and interned at two local public defense offices. After graduating law school in 2025, he began working at the Travis County Public Defender’s Office. In his free time, Jackson enjoys playing basketball, playing chess, riding his bike, and reading fantasy books. He believes no human being belongs in a cage.
