The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Travis County will present its Step Up and Scale Down program for weight loss from January 30 through April 17.

Step Up and Scale Down is an innovative 12-week program designed to guide participants toward weight management through the use of nutrition tips, exercise and a personalized weight-loss planner.

The program will be a combination of in-person and online lessons. In-person lessons will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the AgriLife Extension office, 1600-B Smith Road. These will be on January 30, February 6, March 6 and 27 and April 17. The remainder of the lessons will be online.

Registration is $40 by January 30, and includes a binder with handouts and a cookbook. The cost increases to $50 after January 30.

There will be incentives for those that attend all 5 classes and a $10 gift card for those who achieve their weight goal.

Step Up and Scale Down is a researched-based program that has proven success in weight management and building healthy lifestyle habits.
