The Investigations Division is staffed with a Chief Investigator, one Lieutenant and 17 Sergeant Investigators who are strategically assigned throughout the office. These investigators come to the District Attorney’s Office with a wealth of experience and knowledge from various law enforcement backgrounds. Many of our investigators have over 20 years of prior experience with local police departments and state agencies.

Investigators are assigned to support each division within the Travis County District Attorney’s Office. The Investigative Division plays a pivotal role in supporting the District Attorney and her Assistant District Attorneys as they prepare and handle cases. The Investigations Division handles numerous tasks in supporting prosecution efforts including, but not limited to, locating witness, witness security, witness transportation, evidence-handling, securing statements and assisting with courtroom security.

In addition to providing investigative support, the Investigations Division functions as the Coordination team between the District Attorney’s Office and all law enforcement agencies, both inside and outside of Travis County.
