Welcome to the website for Travis County Television (TCTV). Travis County is the home of many communities in Central Texas, including the state capital of Austin. You can see TCTV in Austin and selected areas on Time Warner Cable Channel 17. In addition to our cablecast, this is your gateway to view both live and archived programming.

TCTV Goes Digital on Time Warner Cable

Beginning October 1, 2010, Time Warner Cable will begin cable casting Travis County Television (TCTV-17) in digital format. That means you will need additional equipment, a digital transformer box, to see TCTV-17 and all other public, educational and governmental (PEG) access cable television channels, that is, the City of Austin channel 6, AISD channel 22, ACC channel 19, and Public Access channels 10, 11, and 16.

This does not apply if you currently use a cable box from Time Warner or have a television with a digital tuner. It also does not apply if you use Grande Communications or ATT U-Verse as your cable provider. Call Time Warner Cable at 485-6000 for specific information about how it may affect you. Time Warner will supply a free basic digital box (NOT the larger advanced service box) for a period of time following October 1.

The decision to digitize the access channels was made solely by Time Warner Cable, not TravisCounty, the City of Austin, nor any other governmental entity.

What is Travis County Television?

We are a county government access channel. Our primary mission is bringing Travis County Commissioners Court meetings to the public. These include live telecasts of regularly scheduled Commissioners Court voting sessions, work sessions, public hearings, and budget hearings.

In addition, Travis County offers a variety of original programs produced by TCTV staff. These programs are intended to inform you about your community. They address Travis County's public affairs, community enrichment, public safety, and county services. To find out more about our programs, click on our Programs and Schedule pages.
