Retired - City of Austin Communications Specialist

Roxanne Evans

Roxanne is a long-time Austin resident and community advocate who is interested in advancing work that protects residents and preserves the uniqueness of Austin. She has been most engaged in City of Austin and Austin ISD work, as an employee of both entities and as a member of boards and commissions and district committees. With her experience serving on the AISD Capital Improvement and Bond Planning Advisory Committee and serving as tri-chair of the AISD Facilities and Bond Planning Advisory Committee, which resulted in passage of the 2017 $1 billion bond package, she is a valuable asset to Travis County as it begins the process for a future bond election. Roxanne has a reputation for being a collaborative participant who also is willing to speak for those who often feel they do not have a voice in local government planning processes. Her background, experience, deep roots in Austin and bond planning experience make her uniquely qualified to serve on this advisory committee.

Roxanne has been engaged in community service and civil engagement by serving on the City of Austin Charter Revision Commission, Zoning and Platting Commission and Urban Renewal Board, as well as the AISD Equity Advisory Committee, the School naming Task Force and other committees/commissions for more than 30 years.
