John Langmore

John Langmore has worked on transportation and land use issues in various capacities since returning to Austin in 2003. His two primary areas of civic engagement have been preserving /creating parks and open space and transportation initiatives. In addition to his work as a private consultant, John has also worked in civic engagement as Vice-Chairman of the Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Vice-Chairman of 2017 Travis County Bond Advisory Committee,

Board member of the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, Vice-Chairman of the Mayor’s Transit Working Group, Board member of the Lone Star Rail District, Member of the Citizen’s Advisory Task Force for Imagine Austin, and as a Founding Board Member of the Travis County Parks Foundation. John has a BBA, an MBA and a JD all from the University of Texas at Austin.

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.5 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $9.12.
